Ahead of third phase of Lok Sabha polls, Income tax department continued its election-related raids across Karnataka. On the basis of credible intelligence reports, I-T department intercepted a vehicle going from Bengaluru to Shivamogga and seized cash in Rs 2,000 denomination worth Rs 2.3 crore. The cash was found stuffed by the handler inside the stepney wheel of the vehicle. Thereafter, follow up raids in Bhadravati and Vijayapura saw another Rs 60 lakh and Rs 10 lakh being seized respectively by the I-T department.
