Ambala LSP-BSP runner turned away by poll staff
AMBALA: The Ambala candidate of Loktanter Suraksha Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (LSP-BSP) alliance, Naresh Saran, on Friday, visited Ambala district election officer’s (DEO) office to file his nomination papers for contesting Lok Sabha elections from Ambala seat.

In the absence of DEO Sharandeep Kaur Brar, the documents of Saran were checked by on-duty deputy DEO Captain Shakti Singh, who found that the bank account mentioned by Saran in his papers was opened on April 19. According to rules, the bank account should be a day older, so he was asked to come the next day.

Dy DEO Singh said, “His papers were in order, but, according to process, he has been asked to file papers on April 20.”

Before Saran went to fill his nominations in DEO office, LSP chief Raj Kumar Saini, BSP Haryana in-charge Meghraj and BSP Haryana president Prakash Bharti participated in his roadshow and public gathering. Saini did not accompany Saran to the DEO office, as he had left to campaign for LSP-BSP Karnal candidate Pankaj Chaudhary. LSP-BSP supporters gathered in a ground near Agrasen Chowk in Ambala City and also held a roadshow in the city.

While addressing the gathering in Ambala, Saini said, “Now the people of backward classes, who were earlier exploited by the traditional regimes, have united together. Now we ourselves are fighting for our rights and elect our candidate Naresh Saran as MP from Ambala.”

The function was also attended by LSP state senior vice-president Rajender Narula, LSP Ambala president Narender Kashyap and other leaders of the alliance.
