HUBBALLI: Launching a bitter attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundurao has charged that the duo was running a mafia politics and the people would give them a befitting reply on May 23. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not return to power and country would elect a new prime minister.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Gundu Rao said the duo have destroyed the economy, misused the power, destroyed institutions like Enforcement Directorate, Reserve Bank of India, Income Tax department, Central Bureau of The investigation, Election Commission of India for their selfish and political gains. The people of the country would put an end to this Mafia politics, he said.
Gundu Rao called Modi a “Mafia prime minister”, he even did not feel it a derogatory and defended his remark by saying that Modi and Amit Shah have subverted all the constitutional and autonomous agencies to attain their selfish and political motives. If they return to power they will completely ruin the country and the Congress would not allow the BJP to do so, he said.
The BJP has created a sense of fear among the public started calling anti-nationals who speak against the BJP and Modi. The BJP was perpetrating mental violence and physical violation and the people are scared, “This is the kind of mafia politics (they practising)," Dinesh said in the defence of his calling Modi as mafia prime minister
“In my political life, I have not seen such a worst government. The expiry date of Modi’s government is nearing and the people of the country will show them doors,” Gundu Rao predicted.
He strongly condemned fielding Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur as BJP candidate was a testimony for the saffron party’s efforts to communally polarise the election in Madhya Pradesh and other Hindi speaking states.
“True face of the BJP has been exposed. Look at the language she is speaking. It is the language the BJP that is being propagated from the past five years”, he said adding that If any other parties had fielded a person facing terror charges, the BJP would have made a lot of hue and cry and made it a national issue.
Commenting on Lingayat issue, the KPCC president said, the issue is nothing to do with the party and the party has not supported it. It was a purely internal matter of that community and Congress don’t want to involve in it. “We did not include that issue in our election manifesto. I don’t want to comment on Minister D K Shivakumar’s apology,” he said.
Coming down heavily on Prime Minister Modi, Gundu Rao said Modi instead of highlighting his achievements before the public, criticising the alliance government. In the last five years, he did not anything. “He is just playing nationalism card and raking airstrike and surgical strike and Jammu Kashmir issue. The Congress has done well in the first phase election and in the second phase we get maximum seats,” he said.
