Poll officials seize Rs 7.85 lakh cash from car

Poll officials have seized unaccounted Rs 7.85 lakh cash from a car in south in the run-up to the elections.

A flying squad Friday checked the car and seized the cash from one Vatsal Dharmesh Shah, who could not give satisfactory reply to why he was carrying the cash, a senior official said Saturday.

A case has been registered with V P police station, he said.

The model code of conduct for the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections came into effect on March 10, when the announced the poll schedule.
