Cross-FIRs lodged over fight on TV show

Noida: A senior member of the Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and the Delhi president of the All India Rajiv Gandhi Vichar Manch (AIRGVM) have been booked for alleged misbehaviour during a TV debate on Thursday night. The debate was held at the office of a news channel in Noida.
While the BJYM member accused the AIRGVM office-bearer of hitting her with a mike during the TV debate, the latter has alleged that it was the former who had in fact attempted to assault him. Videos of the incident are going viral on Twitter.
Gautam Budh Nagar SSP’s PRO Prabhat Dixit said an FIR has been lodged against the AIRGVM office-bearer under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 323 (punishment for volunta-rily causing hurt) at Sector 58 police station, while another has been filed against the BJYM member under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily cau-sing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
