For over 1,000 employees of Telangana power utilities who belong to Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) and have been waiting for postings in the AP-Genco, AP-Transco and DISCOMs post-bifurcation, the release of final modalities of their allocation by Justice (retd.) D.M. Dharmadhikari, who heads the one-man committee appointed by the Supreme Court, has revived the hopes of an amicable settlement.
The A.P-native employees were relieved by TS utilities consequent on bifurcation but were not absorbed by A.P. and the matter has since been mired in litigation. With the Dharmadhikari committee stipulating that all identified allocable employees of power utilities in A.P., including the 1,157 employees who were unilaterally relieved by Telangana and 229 allowed to join TS utilities be considered for final allocation toAndhra Pradesh and Telangana on ‘as is where is’ basis as on June 2, 2014, subject to certain conditions and in accordance with the A.P. Reorganisation Act and options be called from them, the A.P.-native employees are anticipating that their wait will come to an end.
Notification awaited
Now, a notification is awaited and the employees, who have not exercised their choice earlier, have three weeks time to give their options.
