Bulandshahr District Election Officer (DEO) on Thursday ordered detention of BJP candidate Bhola Singh for violating model code of conduct. Singh was allegedly asking voters to cast their vote for his party. DEO Bulandshahr Abhay Singh said, “Candidates can visit booths but not ask people to vote for them.” The DEO detained the BJP candidate for the entire day. The second phase of polling is underway on 95 seats. The voters are exercising their franchise on eight seats in Uttar Pradesh.
