Of the 13,176 students who appeared for the exam, only 6,778 clear it

At 51% pass percentage in the Intermediate-II year examinations held in March, the figure is not only concerning for the district, but the lowest in the past nine years.

A total of 13,176 candidates had appeared for the exam, and of them, only 6,778 have emerged successful.

The district stands at 20th place in the overall performance, while the performance of Intermediate-I year students is even lower.

The officials, however, pointed out that the district’s performance had, in the past too, hovered around 40% to 60%. In the last academic year (2017-18), the performance of Inter-II year students was the highest at 66% and the second best performance was in its preceding year with 62%.

And compared to Inter-I results in 2010-11 (35%), the results now are 9% better.

ADILABAD Special Correspondent adds: Kumram Bheem Asifabad district slid down one rank this year in the Intermediate second year results to stand second in the order. It’s pass percentage is 75%, one percent less than Medchal.

According to the results of Intermediate Public Examination-2019 declared on Thursday, Adilabad with a pass percentage of 71 figured among the top four.

The performance of Nirmal and Mancherial districts, which recorded a pass percentage of 57 and 55 respectively, has left much to be desired.
