Two voters die at polling stations in Tamil Nadu

ERODE: Two voters died at two polling stations in Erode and Salem Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Murugesan, 60, of Sivagiri in Erode Lok Sabha constituency and Krishnan, 75, of Omalur in Salem Lok Sabha constituency.
Murugesan was standing in the queue to cast his vote in a polling booth at Sivagiri. There were around 100 voters in the queue. When Murugesan complained of uneasiness, health officials at the polling station gave him first aid. He was rushed to Erode Government Hospital where doctors examined him and declared that he had been brought dead.
Health officials said cardiac arrest could be the reason for his death. But the real reason would be known only after postmortem, they added.
The Sivagiri police registered a case and initiated inquiries.
Krishnan died at a polling station near Omalur after he cast his vote.
