Passengers flying through the domestic terminal of Chennai airport will now have new shopping options, as several retail outlets were opened on Wednesday. Officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said 15 outlets selling sarees, bags, jewellery and clothes were opened. There are quite a few shops already at the domestic terminal. In the coming months, more shops will be set up at the international terminal too, officials added.
“AAI will get about ₹2.5 crore as revenue every month from the retail outlets’ contract,” an official said.
