It's Terrace time! Sunburst chairs to return to the Memorial Union terrace

The isthmus.

The uw-madison campus is about to get a whole lot greener... and orange-er and yellow-er.

It's terrace time.

And the union is hoping you'll join them in becoming part of an annual tradition later this afternoon.

The university's signature sunburst chairs are scheduled to return to the memorial union terrace.

That's where we find our christina lorey live this morning... rocking her sunburst earrings!

Christina good morning!!

It's the day that makes living in wisconsin for the past five months worth it- today kicks off terrace season.

The iconic green, orange, and yellow chairs will return here, to the uw memorial union this afternoon, but first, we're live with .

1.

Let's talk history... how did this 90-year- old tradition get started?

2.

These chairs have become pretty iconic.

What do their colors symbolize?

3.

You keep the more than 1300 chairs in an undisclosed location- why's that?

If you want to become a part of this annual tradition, you can line up at the north park street entrance to the memorial union starting at 3 this afternoon.

There you'll grab a chair or 2... and then at four o clock, you'll run those chairs out to their rightful spot on the terrace.

If you've never been, it's really something to see!

Thanks christina.
