With the mercury level rising, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar, on Wednesday distributed summer kits to traffic policemen to help them beat the scorching heat.
Over 2,400 personnel involved in regulating traffic on the field were given the kits, that comprises a water bottle, buttermilk packet, collar light, black sunglasses, nose mask, reflective jacket and glucose packets.
“Traffic management in a mega city like Hyderabad, which has a population over 86 lakh, is a tough task, especially during summer and to take care of their safety and health issues, we have decided to gave them summer kits,” Mr. Kumar said.
Further, he stated that the traffic police were the real brand ambassadors of Hyderabad city police, as they, throughout the year, are on the ground. Better traffic management, traffic regulation, check on rash and negligent driving and drunk driving has resulted in the reduction of crime and accidents in the city, he said. Earlier, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar explained the services provided to the traffic personnel for their safety. Traffic DCPs L.S. Chowhan, Babu Rao and other officials were present.
