This open space, an empty lot of land at a dead end road in bloomington, will be the birth of a multi million dollar project, all in hopes of helping families displaced by harvey-- "we were committed to from the beginning to help families who've been devastated find the help they need, we want them to be recovered."
The victoria long term recovery group along with funding partners like the mennonite disaster service and disaster aid ohio will join forces to build 40 homes- a 4.6 million dollar total expense-- "they're also going to bring in the labor to build 30 of the 40 homes being built at home meadows" "as of right now signs are still up with no trespassing signs, but construction can start as early as october" bloomington area is no stranger to aid from groups like the mennonite disaster service after harvey destroyed many homes- as of may 20th, any victoria county homeowner can apply for a home.
"you may not see as many tarps in different areas like it used to be but there are a lot of homes that are in bad shape there's a lot of families that have been displaced."
