Ambala: Hotelier held for failing to maintain record

AMBALA: Ambala women police have arrested a local hotelier, who had failed to maintain entry records and allowed the stay of a 14-year-old girl with an adult on March 13 night at his hotel, on Tuesday.
The accused, 21, had raped the minor girl, said the police.
The police said: “The hotelier has been identified as Mukesh Kumar and has been booked under Section 21 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act after he allowed the stay of a minor girl with the accused without maintaining any record in the register.”
The hotelier was presented before the court on Wednesday which sent him in judicial custody. This is the fourth arrest in the minor girl’s rape case so far.
Women police station SHO inspector Sunita said: “The main accused was booked and arrested under Sections 4 and 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Two more accused were booked and arrested under Sections 16 of Pocso Act and 120-B of the IPC, for helping the accused in providing a room at the concerned hotel.”
As per information, a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in a hotel room on March 13. The 21-year-old accused borrowed a motorcycle from his friend and went to meet the girl, who had left her home for tuition at 7.30pm on March 13. The accused showed her some of her obscene photos and threatened to publicise them and share the same with her parents. He then took her to the hotel and raped her overnight. He dropped the girl near the Ambala district courts on March 14.
