The district administration has set up 20 Sakhi booths in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru parliamentary constituency.
These booths will be supervised by women staff. As many as five are in Kundapur, six in Udupi, five in Kaupm and four in Karkala.
The booths have been decorated with arches and painted to attract colours.
Medical staff too has been stationed in these booths for any emergencies. Children’s corners (chinnara angala) have been set up .
In addition, a selfie centre too has been set up at these booths so that voters could take selfies.
These booths have been set up under the guidance of CEO of Zilla Panchayat, Sindhu B. Rupesh and they are being supervised by Gracy Gonsalves, Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare and Project Director Nayana. Two booths for the differently abled persons and one ethnic booth too have been set up in the district.
