Share market update: PSU Bank shares dip; PNB down over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Syndicate Bank (down 2.89 per cent) , Bank of India (down 2.27 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 2.26 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 1.95 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Bank of Baroda (down 1.91 per cent) , Indian Bank (down 1.71 per cent) , Canara Bank (down 1.52 per cent) and Union Bank of India (down 1.19 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.76 per cent down at 3222.45 around 09:59 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 14.20 points at 11,772.95 while the BSE Sensex was down 4.91 points at 39,270.73.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Wipro, Tata Motors, YES Bank, RIL, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, SBI, SAIL, DLF, Bank of Baroda and Infosys were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
