Cylinder agency worker robbed of Rs 50k

Ludhiana: An unidentified miscreant robbed the worker of an LPG cylinder supplying agency of Rs 50,000 near Middha Chowk on Wednesday evening. The accused first sprinkled chilli powder into his eyes and then attacked him in his head with some sharp-edged weapon and escaped with cash.
The victim, Phuleshwar, 53, was returning to his office which is located near Middha Chowk. After the incident, he somehow managed to reach his workplace and informed his employer who further informed police. The victim further was taken to hospital for treatment.
Sidak Khurana, owner of cylinder supplying agency, said Phuleshwar has been working with them for more than two decades. On Wednesday, he had gone for the delivery of LPG cylinders in Jawahar Nagar area and was returning to office at around 5.30pm, when a miscreant threw chilli powder in his eyes and then attacked him before fleeing with the cash in his possession.
The owner said they are suspecting the involvement of more than one accused in this case.
He also shared that in November 2018, one of their workers named Arjun was robbed of Rs 35,000 by miscreants in Dehlon area. However in that case too, police have not managed to trace accused.
