Indore: City police on Wednesday arrested the prime accused involved in murder of LIC officer Yatin Pise. The accused had changed his look and turned bald to evade police arrest. Cases of theft, stabbing and robbery were registered against him. According to police, Rahul alias Manish Thakur and his aides stabbed LIC officer Yatin Pise to death at Phooti Kothi Square in Dwarkapuri Police Station area on March 3, 2019.
“Accused killed Yatin Pise to loot him. Three accused were arrested by police on April 11. They included Chintaman alias Ashish, Golu and Shyam but prime accused Rahul was on the run since then.” Police said accused stayed in Omkareshwar, Thandla, Petlawad, Pithampur and other areas while on the run. “On Tuesday, we got a tip that the accused was hiding on terrace of rear portion of Phooti Kothi. Swinging into action, we found Rahul who tried to flee by jumping from the building. He received injuries in both legs in a bid to escape from police but was arrested,” police station incharge of Dwarkapuri RNS Bhadouriya said.
Police have also recovered weapon used in incident along with four mobile phones, which he had looted from other people.
Police claimed that more than 200 people were interrogated in the case and policemen of Dwarkapuri, Bhawarkuan, Rajendra Nagar and Annapurna police stations jointly worked to arrest accused.
34 phones worth Rs 25 lakh recovered, 3 held
Indore: City crime branch on Wednesday arrested three accused involved in theft of expensive mobile phones, which they stole from different cities including Delhi and Mumbai. The accused used to sell parts of mobile phones in city’s Dollar Market while they sold some phones in Thailand, China and other countries. Police have recovered 34 mobile phones and an ipod from the accused worth Rs 25 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested local residents Manish Tejwani, Bharat Temwani and Shahbaz Khan from Nehru Park. City police then informed Delhi Police about the arrest of the accused. The phones stolen from Delhi were handed over to Delhi policemen who are in city. Local police also informed police of Thane, Uttar Pradesh, Hariyana, Tamil Nadu and Gurgaon about the stolen phones.
