Jind: Low intensity explosion creates panic

JIND: A blast at a religious place in Ramrai village sent the police department in tizzy here in Jind district on Wednesday. The police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the matter. Though no one was injured but the explosion led to damage of many historical walls and floor.
The explosion created panic in adjoining areas. Police said that some unidentified miscreants may have triggered the explosive which exploded as it was kept inside a pressure-cooker. The police collected samples from the site and lodged FIR against unidentified persons. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) led the team of Rohtak, Hisar and Jind and has formed various teams to investigate the matter as explosion took place just before the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana.
Surender Singh, station house officer (SHO) of Sadar police station said ,“Prima facie, it was revealed that a low intensive explosive was used in a pressure-cooker for blast. The forensic experts from Rohtak, Hisar and Jind reached the spot to investigate further. Samples have been collected and FIR was lodged against unidentified persons under sections 3-4 explosive substances act, 1908.
Kuldeep Singh, a panchayat member said that a month ago on the day of Holi festival a similar explosion had happened at the same place.
