Chhattisgarh: 2 Naxals killed in Dantewada encounter

Two Naxals including one who was involved in the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bhima Mandavi and five police personnel were killed in an encounter with District Reserve Guard (DRG) in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada. They were gunned down in forest range. Speaking to ANI on this matter, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dantewada Abhishek Pallava said, “They had come to install Improvised explosive device (IEDs) with the intention of executing a major operation. So this (encounter) is a major achievement. Weapons have been recovered.”
