Shopkeeper booked for poll code violation

Jhansi: A shop owner in Kathryana area of old Jhansi city was booked for violation of model code of conduct on Wednesday. The man had inscribed a promotional slogan in favour of Bharatiya Janta Party candidate on his shop.
According to reports, the shop owner had inscribed a message telling customers to avail 15% discount if they pledge to vote along with a promotional slogan in favour of BJP. On being informed, mobile election observing team headed by magistrate Brijmohan Singh reached the site and lodged a complaint against the man at city Kotwali.
Singh said, “On being informed the team reached the site. Finding the graffiti against model code of conduct a complaint was lodged against the shop owner. The matter was reported to the Election Commission.”
SO Kotwali Sanjay Singh said, “We have lodged an FIR against the shopkeeper and efforts are on to arrest him”.
