Veteran Your Theatre Inc. director Bob Gillet of Fall River has cast 14 SouthCoast area actors to take the stage in the gripping drama "A Man For All Seasons" by Robert Bolt, the final major attraction of Your Theatre, Inc.'s 72nd season.

This tragic historical drama offers a brilliant portrait of Sir Thomas More in his last years as Lord Chancellor of England during the reign of Henry VIII.

When Henry fails to obtain papal approval for a divorce from Catherine of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn, he mandates his subjects to sign an Act of Supremacy making him both spiritual and temporal leader of England. Sir Thomas cannot in good conscience comply.

Cromwell, Cardinal Wolsey, his family and the King himself are all unable to convince More otherwise, as he maintains his integrity and belief in silence. Ultimately accused of high treason, this very silence leads the man to his execution, and later his canonization in 1935.

The cast includes Mark P. Fuller, Bruce Lackey, Frank Mitchell, Leonid Tatara Jr., Ray Veary, Ian Vincent of New Bedford; Cheryl Day and John Softcheck of Fairhaven; Lauren Costa and Kyle Barrett of Middletown, Rhode Island; Alberto Rizzotti of Berkley; Stephen Norton of North Providence; Jack Boesen of Marion; and Natalie Cabral of Dighton.

The production is stage managed by Maria G. Dawson of of West Warwick, Rhode Island; costume and set design are by Mark P. Fuller; lighting design by Lawrence R. Houbre Jr., both of New Bedford; with sound design by William Smith of Dartmouth.

The play opens on May 9 and runs for two Thursdays through Sundays. Performance dates are May 9, 10, 11, 12 and 16, 17, 18, 19. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. for all performances except the 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinees.
