“The ZenFone Live (L2) ropes in minor improvements and new colour options over last year’s ZenFone Live (L1)”
Ahead of the brand’s much-anticipated ZenFone 6 smartphone launch, ASUS has announced a new entry-level smartphone called the ZenFone Live (L2). The handset is a successor to last year’s ZenFone Live (L1) and comes with a slightly bigger display, 2 gigs of RAM and up to 32GB built-in storage, and ZenUI based on Android 8.1 Oreo (instead of Android Go). The ZenFone Live (L2) also comes with new colour options: Rocket Red and Cosmic Blue.

Coming to the specifications, the ZenFone Live (L2) comes with a 5.5-inch display with an18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ (720 x 1440p) resolution. The phone is driven by either Snapdragon 425 SoC or Snapdragon 430 SoC, mated with 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Snapdragon 425-powered model rocks 32GB ROM, while the Snapdragon 430-powered option gets 32GB ROM. They can be further increased up to 1TB by adding a microSD card on a dedicated slot.
In the camera department, the Live (L2) features a 13-megapixel sensor at the back with LED flash and an f/2.0 aperture 5p lens. The front camera, on the other hand, gets an 8-megapixel shooter with a wide f/2.4 aperture lens and soft light LED flash. The cameras also include features such as Auto mode with Night HDR and portrait, Beauty, time-lapse, and panorama.
As stated above, the handset comes running Android 8.1 Oreo-based on ZenUI 5 to take care of the software side of things. A 3,000mAh battery fuels the ZenFone Live (L2). Connectivity options include dual SIMs, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s no fingerprint sensor on the device.
There is no word over ZenFone Live (L2) price and availability yet, but the ASUS website says, the handset will be available in the US and Canada soon.
