Pitso: 'Win or lose... I'm not inspired by the league this year'

2019-04-18 08:55

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane said on Wednesday he is uninspired by the Absa Premiership title race this season because of the Wayne Arendse eligibility issue.

The PSL Disciplinary Committee found Sundowns guilty of misconduct after fielding the ineligible Arendse in a league clash against Bidvest Wits on October 7, 2018.

Mosimane, in an interview before his side's 2-0 defeat to SuperSport United - hit out at the PSL for the long delay in concluding the matter as it has left his side uncertain of their league position.

"You don't know how many points you have in the bag, this thing takes too long," Mosimane said. "You can't fight when you don't know how much ammunition you have.

"Personally I'm not inspired by the league this year. Win or lose it's complicated, last year I thought we were still going through teething problems when you didn't know how many points you needed to win the league.

"When you win the trophy and you walk around with it you've earned it, but I don't know what's going to happen this year it's turning into something else.

"Rules are rules but deal with this thing as quickly as possible man there's a lot of mixed feelings."

Sundowns currently sit third in the standings six points off Orlando Pirates but have two games in hand with five games left to play.
