AMBALA: Ambala police arrested three accused under charges of voluntarily causing hurt and attempt to murder, after two youths were stabbed with a knife on Tuesday at around 11.30pm in Naraingarh town of Haryana's Ambala district.
"I am a graduate and have completed Junior Basic Training (JBT) course. I work as a cooking staff at an eating joint, Burger Point, in Naraingarh on Kala Ambala Road, owned by Baljinder Singh, a resident of Barara. Lakhwinder of Rajouli village, Vipin Kumar and Rahul Kumar of Balmiki Basti, Barara also work there. Lakhwinder has been taunting me from several days, regarding my work as I am an educated person and I have come at a wrong place to work. I made him understand that I am a poor man and I am earning my livelihood through daily wages. On Tuesday, at around 11:30pm, when I was about to leave Burger Point and was waiting for my elder brother Vishal to pick me up, Lakhwinder came to me and again started taunting me. After sometime, Vishal came there along with Prince and Kartik of our village to pick me up. Suddenly, Lakhwinder along with Vipin and Rahul stabbed me with a knife in my back. When my brother came to my rescue, Lakhwinder attacked him in his neck as well. We shouted for help and on seeing the passersby, the accused fled the spot,” Sagar, who hails from Nanhera village, told police.
After the incident, the victims were rushed to the Civil Hospital, Naraingarh for primary treatment and from where they were referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh.
On Sagar's complaint, the district police have registered a case under sections 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 307 (punishment for attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
Investigation officer sub-inspector Gurmail Singh said, “All the three accused have been arrested. On Thursday, they were presented before the court which sent them to the judicial custody."
The victims are undergoing treatment, Singh added.
