Two bear cubs aged about four months were rescued by forest officials from an agricultural well into which they had fallen by accident in Gattubuthkur village of Gangadara mandal of Karimnagar district during the early hours of Thursday.
The forest range officer rushed to the spot upon receiving the news, and monitored the rescue operation which employed three ladders and a net to take the cubs out.
The well did not have much water. The cubs were kept in the shade for some time, and fed with fruit, before being released into the forest nearby.
