North Korea Doesn't Want Pompeo Involved in Nuclear Talks

North Korea doesn't want U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo involved in future nuclear talks.

According to state media , a senior official in North Korea's Foreign Ministry said he worries that if Pompeo engages in discussions again, "the table will be lousy once again and the talks will become entangled." And the official called for someone "who is more careful and mature in communicating with us" to take Pompeo's place.

The report came just hours after the North  announced it had tested  a "new-type tactical guided weapon" — its first test since U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's summit earlier this year.

The two sides have seemingly been deadlocked since the meeting, which ended on a sour note when President Trump and Kim couldn't come to an agreement.

Since then, North Korea has  threatened to end denuclearization talks  with the U.S., and there have been numerous reports that North Korea is  rebuilding some of its rocket sites .

Kim said last week that he'll give the U.S.  until the end of the year  to decide if there will be a third summit.
