A major fire broke out on Tuesday in a spa located in Iscon Arcade Complex at the CG road area, but no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Service (AFES), they received a call at around 11.30 am that a fire had broken out on the third floor of the Iscon Arcade Commercial Complex. Immediately, three fire fighting vehicles with the Additional Fire Officials Rajesh Bhatt and 30 firemen were rushed to the spot to control the fire. After three hours of operation, the fire officials brought the situation under control.

Fire officials added that the fire broke out in a spa centre that was not operational as it was yet to be inaugurated. The suspect that it was caused by a short circuit in one of the wires from where it spread to their shop wherein the wooden furniture and synthetic materials only added to the spread of the fire.

Rajesh Bhatt, Additional Chief Fire Officer, said, "The entire shop was located in a confined space due to which there was no space for the smoke to exit," adding, "We had to break the glass wall of the complex to clear the smoke and control the fire. Fortunately, the spa was not inaugurated yet due which there was no one inside the shop and no casualties was reported in the incident."
