In view of the ritual of Lord Kallalagar’s entry into the Vaigai river as part of Chithirai festival on Friday morning, the city police have made the following regulations:
No vehicle will be allowed to Ramarayar Mandapam, Albert Victor Bridge and Yanaikkal New Bridge.
No vehicles should be parked on Obulapadithurai, Vaigai South Bank Road and North Bank Road. No vehicle would be allowed from Simmakkal side towards Obulapadithurai Bridge, AV Bridge and Sellur New Bridge and Vaigai North Bank.
Vehicles with passes coming from New Natham Road, Alagarkoil Road and Anna Nagar, K.K. Nagar and other parts of the city should take the permitted route and should be parked at the designated places.
Vehices with green passes should be parked on AV Bridge, with pink passes at mini bus stand at Goripalayam and yellow passes at Anna bus stand.
Vehicles going from Periyar bus stand to New Natham Road, Alagarkoil Road and Melur Road should go through Kattabomman statue, South Marret Street, Mahal Road, East Gate junction, Kamarajar Salai, Munichalai, Kuruvikkaran Salai, Aavin junction, KK Nagar Road, KK Nagar Arch, Melur Road and 120 Feet Road.
Vehicles proceeding from Thathaneri Road to New Natham Road, Alagarkoil Road and Melur Road should go through LIC junction, Kulamangalam Road, Sellur 60 Feet Road and PT Rajan Salai.
Devotees coming to have darshan of Kallalagar should park their four-wheelers and two-wheelers on Dr. Thangaraj Salai, Race Course Road, OCPM School Road, Tallakulam Police Station Road, South and North Masi streets and Workshop Road.
Besides, vehicles can be parked on East Veli Street from West Masi Street junction to East Gate, East Masi Street Theradi till Vilakkuthoon and North Masi Street.
