BENGALURU: Two men arrested by Madhya Pradesh police recently under the Arms Act confessed to have killed a 19-year-old man in Bengaluru in December 2018.
City cops have taken Ramveer Adivasi, 19, and his friend Sanjeev Adivasi, 20, from Baved village of Shivpuri district in Madhya Pradesh, into custody.
They were arrested last month and an illegal country-made pistol was recovered from them. During interrogation, they said they have killed their friend Arjun Dakkud over a petty fight.
All the three lived in a makeshift shed in Bellandur and took up odd jobs. “For sometime, the three worked as daily wage labourers. Afterwards, they were selling groundnuts. On the night of December 15, 2018, they were playing cards inside their shed and a fight broke out between them over sharing money. Dakkud had won a lion’s share. The accused asked him for a loan so that they could gamble again, but Dakkud refused. Irked by this, the two strangled Dakkud to death and fled the spot. As the body had decomposed by the time police found it, they filed an unnatural death report and sent viscera samples for forensic exam,” sources said.
