Dubai Tourism launches new sponsorship scheme for event organisers

According to the statement the new scheme by Dubai Tourism will be directed at events that are ticketed and open to the public and have leisure event public.

 

 

In order to streamline the management and coordination of event licensing activities and provide greater operational efficiency it will work along with the Department’s ticketing and permits services.

 

 

Through an online application process on the Dubai Tourism website the sponsorship scheme will take effect for events being held from May 1, 2019.

 

 

In the first quarter of 2019 , Dubai saw a recorded an increase of over 100,000 ticket sales and 25 additional events as compared to the same period last year.

 

 

New event venues have also opened up across the city including Dubai Opera as well as the upcoming Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk 2, which will officially open this summer.

 

 

 

Helal Saeed Almarri, director general, Dubai Tourism said that the  sponsorship scheme has been designed to act as a catalyst for the local events industry. This was  fuelled by their cross-industry public and private sector partnerships, which is  a crucial component in helping them  identify and pursue opportunities to further empower local event organisers.

 

 

 

 

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment added that the Dubai’s events sector is continuing to grow at an impressive rate. The dedicated incentivisation scheme will aim to further position Dubai as a major player in the sector by providing additional support for event organisers across the city. This will attract prominent event organisers and international initiatives.
