Umraoganj police arrested two imposters who posing as cops had allegedly gangraped a city girl Mahadevpani in Raisen. The girl was visiting a picnic spot with her boyfriend when they were targeted by the imposters. The incident occurred on April 7 evening. The accused had in the past too targeted a couple, however, the duo gave them a slip.
SP Raisen Monika Shukla said the arrested accused have been identified as Bhura Kha of Salamatpur, Raisen and Jagdeesh Ahirwar of Vidisha district. The accused, professional drivers and run tours and travels taxis, would target lonely couples, she informed. We have an information that earlier too the duo tried to harass a girl but she managed to flee, the girl has refused to lodge a complaint.
Both the accused, had apparently spotted the couple at the desolate spot. While they were was returning on a bike, the two accosted them near forest area of Sehatganj. The accused riding on a bike bearing registration number (MP-48-ML-6270) waylaid them and posing as cops they threatened the couple of releasing their video, which they shot of their intimate moments. on social media.
Seeing the couple unrelenting, the accused overpowered girl’s boyfriend and made the terrified boy fell from the spot leaving the girl. They then took the girl to Mahadevpani on pretext of taking her to police station where they allegedly took turns to rape the girl. They later left her in Ayodhya Nagar area in Bhopal.
Osn reaching home, the girl informed her parents and next day they approached police with their complaint. Ayodhya Nagar police have recorded girl’s statement and a case has been registered on Zero and case diary was forwarded to Raisen Police as Mahadevpani falls under the jurisdiction of the adjoining district.
Interestingly, four days after the incident on April 11, both the accused were caught by Salamatpur police during a routine vehicle checking drive while they were coming from Sanchi. Seeing police, the duo tried to escape, however cops chased them down near Kharbai Jakha. Police recovered two knives from their possession. During interrogation, they confessed to have sexually assaulted a girl at Mahadevpani on April 7.
