Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, which was launched back in February, is getting a new MIUI 10 stable update in India which brings the version to V10.2.8.0.PFHINXM. It brings a host of camera enhancements including the sharpness improvements to the 48MP and 12MP camera mode, March 2019 security patch for increased system security, and optimised screen brightness, among others.

The official changelog lists improvements to portrait mode relating to the underexposure issue, low-light details visibility and overall image brightness. The update also brings enhancements to indoor AWB (auto white balance), fixes issue where the screen doesn’t light up while using gestures, fix for the screen brightness issue, and call-time bubble overlapping issue with notifications icons. The update is rolled out via OTA in batches, so it might be a while before it reaches everyone. Alternatively, Xiaomi has also published Recovery ROM and Fastboot ROM links, allowing users to flash the update manually.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro price in India is Rs 13,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB variant and Rs 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB option. To recall, the handset sports a 6.3-inch display with full-HD+ resolution and a waterdrop-style notch to accommodate the selfie camera. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform with Adreno 612 GPU. As mentioned above, it comes in two variants – 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB storage, another with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB storage. The handset runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.

In terms of optics, the phone rocks a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP primary lens and a 5MP secondary depth-sensing shooter with LED flash on the rear. On the front, it gets a 13MP selfie shooter with AI features. The rear cameras are backed by 4K video recording, EIS, AI scene detection, and AI portrait to enhance the results further. It houses a 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4 for fast charging.
