Spruced up ‘Kalyana Vedika’ adds grandeur to Vontimitta

‘Talambralu’ would be made available in sachets to all the participants

‘Kalyana Vedika’, specially-decorated campus near the Sri Kodandarama temple which will host the Sri Sitarama kalyanam as a State function on April 18, has turned out to be a visual treat.

With electrical illumination and construction of sheds using German technology, the presence of the TTD has taken the arrangements several leaps forward for the grand gala festival. One lakh devotees are expected to witness it.

The TTD, in association with the Kadapa district administration, beefed up security with 1,200 policemen, 200 TTD vigilance staff, 400 sanitary workers, 1,200 Srivari Sevaks (volunteers), 500 scouts and guides. “Development activities taken up in the TTD’s temples would be displayed through special flex boards,” Joint Executive Officer (TTD) B. Lakshmikantham said.

Beating the heat

Mr. Lakshmikantham, who inspected the preparations on Tuesday, said in view of the scorching summer, arrangements had been made to distribute buttermilk and drinking water, food (Anna Prasadam) and arrange medical and ambulance facilities. ‘Talambralu’ would be made available in sachets to all participants. Kadapa Collector Ch. Hari Kiran said the administration had made arrangements were made for accommodating as many visitors as possible.

Superintending Engineer-I M. Ramesh Reddy, TTD Forest Officer Phanikumar Naidu, Executive Engineer Jaganmohan Reddy, Deputy EO Natesh Babu, Assistant EO Rama Raju and Additional Health Officer Sunil Kumar were present.
