A community college in our area is named one of the top colleges in the nation for an online education.

On line colleges dot com ranked northeast mississippi community college as the second best college in the nation for its online education options.

The study focused on areas such as, affordability, program availability and the retention and completion rate of students.

Officials say it's important to offer options for students who may not be able to attend classes on campus because of work or family obligations.

Under that program, every student gets an i-pad, and has access to textbooks and other resources without the expense of traditional books.
