13-yr-old allegedly collapsed in washroom

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought response from the city government and police on a news report on the death of a 13-year-old Class VIII student in a Rohini school’s washroom earlier this month.

The High Court’s direction came after advocate Ashok Aggarwal, who is assisting the court as amicus curiae in a case on safety and security of students in schools, submitted the news report. The HC has posted the case for further hearing on July 5.

The student allegedly collapsed in school’s washroom and was declared brought dead at a hospital in Rohini on April 5 morning. The child’s family was also informed about the incident. The police were informed by the hospital around 8.30 a.m.

Delhi Police had said that the deceased was student of a government school in Rohini’s Sector 6.

Delhi Police had said that according to preliminary information, the boy had come to the school in the morning and gone to the washroom.
