Ghana grabs attention through tourism

The musing narrative has all the time been how Ghana can make the most of their tourist attractions to generate employment, drive growth and exports, and how well we have done with the current Travel and tourism systems.

For me, more prominently, looking at this sector , i have a tendency to ask how many young entrepreneurs can be found here and the kind of support the country has been offering of late. In this forward discussion, I will end with an interview with one of the most zealous entrepreneurs who have devoted all his resources to export Ghana to the world through his eco-travel adventure firm, Touch Effects Global.

In the year-on-year analysis by the WorldTravel & Tourism Council (WTTC) of the global economic impact of Travel & Tourism, the tourism sector has shown to account for GDP 10.4% and 313 million jobs, or 9.9% of total employment, in 2017.

Travel & Tourism, which by now aids one in every ten jobs, has become a dynamic engine in terms of employment opportunity. In the last ten years, one in five of all jobs developed worldwide have been in tourism and, with the right regulatory conditions and government aid, almost 100 million new jobs could be created over the decade ahead.
