South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya presented the GM’s Efficiency Shield to Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) R. Dhananjayulu and Secunderabad DRM Anand Bhatia, jointly for overall best performance to the two divisions.
The shield was present at the 64th Railway Week Celebrations held at Rail Kalarang, Secunderabad, on Monday. Vijayawada division bagged 11 of the 33 shields for the year 2018-19.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mallya said the zone registered the highest-ever freight loading and earned good revenue on passenger traffic.
Officers of various wings received awards for best utilisation of track machines, best maintained running room, best long distance train (Gautami Express), commercial, operating and other achievements.
The GM also presented 171 individual awards and 23 group awards to the officers and staff in recognition of their meritorious service.
