Deputies in perry county have arrested a man accused of shooting another man during a fight.

According to the sheriff's office..

The shooting happened along railroad tracks in the christopher community on friday night.

Deputies say they arrested the suspect, james reed earlier today.

He's now charged with assault.

Investigators say reed was fighting with 42-year-old brian smith when he reportedly shot him.

Smith was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

According to deputies..

A woman was with the two, during the fight.

Deputies say she's being interviewed.

But has not been charged.
