“The HP ZBook series gets brighter displays that can reach up to 600 nits”
At its annual EMEA Innovation Summit in Barcelona, HP launched updated variants of some of its business notebooks. The new laptops feature the latest 8th generation Intel Core VPro processors and brighter displays. HP has updated the ZBook and the EliteBook 800 G6 series of laptops.
The latest HP ZBook lineup includes the 14-inch ZBook 14u and the 15.6-inch ZBook 15u. These aren’t really new laptops as such, but they have been updated with new hardware. Firstly, both models get the latest 8th generation Intel Core vPro processors, which effectively improve the performance on the go. They also feature new AMD Radeon Pro WX 3200 GPU, which is said to provide up to 50 percent boost in graphics performance.
The ZBook 14u is the thinnest business laptop in the world, according to HP’s claims. This laptop is available with up to 4K UHD display that features 600 nits of brightness and 100 percent Adobe RGB range. You can also opt for a 1080p display, which has a max brightness of 950 nits. The ZBook 15u has a larger 15.6-inch display with a 1080p resolution and 700 nits of brightness. Both these laptops can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. As per HP, these new laptops will be available for purchase in May but pricing hasn’t been revealed yet.
Apart from the new ZBook series, HP has also launched new variants of EliteBook 800 series. The updated versions include EliteBook 830 G6, EliteBook 840 G6, EliteBook 850 G6 and the 2-in-1 EliteBook 830 x360 G6.
All of the new EliteBook 800 G6 variants will ship with the latest 8th generation Intel Core vPro processors. Screen sizes start from 13.3-inches and go up to 15.6-inches, offering a maximum of 1,000 nits brightness. You can have the laptop with low-power LCD panels that will improve battery life. HP also provides the AMD Radeon RX 550 GPU options on the larger 15.6-inch laptops. However, the convertible 13.3-inch EliteBook 830 x360 doesn’t come with the bright display or a dedicated GPU.
The EliteBook 830 G6, 840 G6 and the 850 G6 will be available in May, but the EliteBook 830 x360 doesn’t arrive until June.
