Man gets son arrested, then helps in his bail
Vadodara: A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for stealing ornaments worth Rs 2.4 lakh from his own house. Interestingly, the accused Amar Mistry’s father Raju Mistry, who was the complainant himself, became his son’s bail guarantor on Wednesday.
Amar left from his house on March 31 after an argument with his father, who retired from railways last month. Police said that Amar has been unemployed and since he was not finding a job, the father-son duo used to regularly get into arguments.

Amar opted for diploma engineering course after class X, but it was not confirmed whether he finished it or not. On March 31 when the argument became heated, Amar left and did not return even after Raju searched for him at several places.

On April 12, when Raju checked for gold jewellery in a safe in his house, it was missing. He approached Manjalpur police station and gave a complaint. Raju told police that he suspected that Amar had stolen the jewellery. Police registered an offence of theft against Amar.

The detection of crime branch (DCB) nabbed Amar near Ghadiyali Pol while he was trying to sell the ornaments to a local jeweller. During interrogation he told police that he had committed theft as he had to return money to his friends.

“The accused used to go out for meals and other activities with his friends, but as he did not have money his friends used to pay on his behalf and lately they had started demanding money so he decided to steal the ornaments,” said a police official.

On Wednesday, Amar was handed over to Manjalpur police station from where he was released on bail and his father became his bail guarantor.
