Assuring to resolve Goa’s mining issue, Union minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari Wednesday urged the people of Shiroda to reject the Dhavalikar brothers from Goan politics by defeating Pandurang ‘Dipak’ Dhavalikar in the Shiroda bypoll. Gadkari was addressing a public meeting in Ponda.

With an aim to strengthen the economy of Goa and resolve the unemployment crisis, we will surely find solution to the mining issue by taking Narendra Sawaikar beside me, assured Gadkari and urged the people to reelect Sawaikar from the South Goa seat. He also said that he never gives

fake assurances and told the people to consider his assurance on mining as his promise to Goans.

Speaking on Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, Gadkari said that people of Goa have seen enough of Dhavalikar brothers now and their Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) party too has merged into BJP. “Whatever is left is their family party and people should take Shiroda by-election as an opportunity to finish both Dhavalikar brothers’ careers in politics. People of Shiroda should reject Dhavalikar brothers,” he said.

Criticising Sudin further over various projects under PWD and benefits that Sudin has gained, Gadkari urged Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgoankar to conduct an audit report on various development works carried out in the past.

“Dhavalikar has taken credit for whatever works the central government has done in the past under BJP leadership. He has also gained various advantages out of it. Dhavalikar has celebrated Diwali in the name of BJP several times and such people should be exposed,” he said.

The Union minister also criticised Sudin for not keeping his word when he was offered the post of deputy chief minister in Pramod Sawant’s government. “He had assured me to withdraw his brother from contesting in Shiroda and based on that promise, deputy chief minister’s post was offered to him. But he ditched us and was subsequently thrown out of the state cabinet,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajgaonkar vowed that he will never leave BJP and added that the party has given him the best position ever.
