A case has been registered against a well-known make-up artist by the Gamdevi police for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman.
According to the Mumbai Mirror, the make-up artist has been identified as Satish Kargutkar, who owns The Make-Up Studio on Bomanji Petit Marg, Cumballa Hill. The police have said that the victim was the make-up artists’ student and used to visit the studio for training. The 36-year-old victim has alleged that Satish misbehaved with her during a training session. The woman also alleged that three women, along with Kargutkar, verbally abused her and later pushed her.
Gamdevi Senior Inspector of Police, Gokulsingh Patil told the leading daily, “We have registered a case under the following charges: assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty; punishment for voluntarily causing hurt; intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace; and abettor present when the offence is committed.”
Satish Kargutkar provides make-up services to several celebrities and also runs professional classes for make-up. Satish told the Mumbai Mirror, “My studio has complete CCTV coverage and every part is covered by the cameras. I am going to prove my innocence with the help of the footage, which I will soon submit to the police.”
The cops are now investigating the matter and till now they have not made any arrests. The cops have also said that several students were present during the incident and they were verifying the claims.
