Three students from different cities, who wanted to make a quick buck by cashing in on the craze for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, were apprehended by Hyderabad Police commissioner’s Task Force (Central Zone) team near Gymkhana Grounds on Tuesday and 251 tickets were seized from them.
The accused Ayush Vidhale (21) from Pune, Sachin Shukla (22) from Kolkata, and Rishabh Suthar (20) from Delhi met through Facebook and hatched a plan to sell tickets of the ongoing IPL-2019 matches in black. They used to book a large number of tickets, collect them from different counters and later sell them for amounts ranging from ₹ 1,500 to ₹ 3,000. They reached the city last week and started black-marketing the tickets. Based on a tip-off, the Task Force Central Zone team apprehended them.
