New Chevy Tracker And Trailblazer Revealed In Sporty Redline Trim In China

As with Buick, Chevrolet also has a pair of all-new SUVs debuting at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The Tracker small SUV and Trailblazer compact SUVs are actually the slightly less glamorous versions of the all-new Buick Encore and Encore GX. Shown in Shanghai in Redline trim, the Tracker and Trailblazer are meant to strengthen Chevrolet’s presence China, its second-largest market worldwide.

“The all-new Trailblazer and Tracker are taking us to the next chapter of Chevrolet SUV design. With their lean muscularity, every member of the Chevrolet SUV family is reinforcing the brand’s focus on performance and capability,” said Stuart Norris, design director of global Chevrolet compact SUVs.

While the two models look similar, there are some differences between them besides the size. The Trailblazer, for example, features a bold look more clearly inspired by the Chevrolet FNR-CarryAll concept SUV. The compact model sports split LED headlights, a sporty C-pillar treatment, and horizontal taillights placed lower than on the Tracker. It also features a “floating roof” design thanks to the black-painted A-pillars and the black trim that cuts into the C-pillars.

As for the Tracker subcompact SUV, it looks dynamic as well but less so than the Trailblazer. The addition of a third lateral window makes it look a bit more utilitarian than the compact SUV. Chevrolet says the Tracker targets the internet generation but what matters more to us is that it might preview the all-new Trax for North America.

Both models feature sporty Redline details such as the black Chevrolet bowtie logos, black dual-intake grille, black 17-inch alloys, and red accents. Besides the new Tracker and Trailblazer, Chevrolet’s Shanghai Auto Show stand also includes the all-new Monza, Onix, Malibu XL, Equinox, Orlando, Traverse, Camaro ZL1, Corvette C7 and FNR-CarryAll concept SUV.
