One of the three finalists will join offensive tackle Leon Gray, who was selected this year for induction by the Patriots Hall of Fame 10-member selection committee in a meeting held on April 4. Gray and either Harrison, Seymour or Vrabel will be inducted during a ceremony typically held on the NRG Plaza outside the Patriots Hall of Fame. The date of the ceremony, which is free and open to the public, will be announced later this year.

A 23-person nomination committee, which also met on April 4, tabbed Harrison, Seymour and Vrabel (all of whom were teammates during their playing days), as this year’s finalists.

Vrabel has been a finalist in each of the last four years, Seymour in each of the last three, Harrison a first-timer.

Harrison spent the last six seasons of his 15-year career with the Patriots (he spent the first nine with the San Diego Chargers) and played a major role in their Super Bowl XXXVIII and XXXIX championships. The team’s leading tackler his first two years (2003-2004) in New England and those postseasons as well, Harrison’s seven postseason interceptions, including two in Super Bowl XXXIX, are tied for the third-most in league history.

Seymour spent the first eight seasons (2001-2008) of his 12-year NFL career with the Patriots, contributing to six AFC East titles, four conference championships and their Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX crowns during that time. He was named to five straight Pro Bowls with the team (2002-06), earning three straight first-team All-Pro honors (2003-05) along the way

Traded to Oakland in 2009, Seymour spent the final four years of his career in Oakland where he garnered two more Pro Bowl berths.

Vrabel joined the Patriots in 2001 after four years in Pittsburgh and played a key role in three Super Bowl championships.

Exhibiting great versatility, Vrabel started at both inside and outside linebacker, played some tight end and was a valuable contributor on special teams during his time with the Patriots (2001-2008), which came to an end when he was traded to Kansas City in 2009. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2007, a season in which he totaled 12.5 sacks.

Vrabel closed out his career with the Chiefs, playing two seasons in KC.
