Qantas ISN'T Australia's most trusted airline: Foreign carrier beats its rival for the third year running - as Virgin slides down the rankings

Qantas Airways has been beaten to the top spot once again by its New Zealand counterpart in the annual Australian Corporate Reputation Index.
In the institute's report, Air New Zealand took first position as the most trusted brand, while Australia's flagship airline came in a close second place.
The institute ranks brands based on the opinions of Australians on a number of factors including product, service and financial performance.

It's the third consecutive year the New Zealand operator has outperformed Australian firms.
The airlines' Chief Executive Officer Christopher Luxon said the brand it determined to continue its winning streak.

'Air New Zealand is in the business of world-class journeys and maintaining such an outstanding performance year in, year out, is down to the incredible efforts of our people to push boundaries and continually enhance all aspects of our customer experience,' Mr Luxon said.
'Customer focus underpins reputation leadership.

'We maintain our leading position by continuing to invest in our aircraft, products and services and by bringing genuine Kiwi warmth to the 17 million journeys we're part of every year,' he said.
Despite narrowly missing the top spot, second place is an improvement for Quantas who came in third place in 2018.
Also in the top five were JB Hi Fi, Toyota and Mazda Australia, respectively.
While Aldi Australia, Samsung, Woolworths, Hyundai Australia and Nestle Australia completed the top ten.
Meanwhile Virgin Australia plummeted out of the top ten this year, having previously held fourth place in 2018.
But Air New Zealand only came in second place in its own country's annual reputation index review, while Toyota took the top position.
The company did however bag the top spot in the TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice Awards for being the best brand in the South Pacific region.
Qantas was named as the best service in Australia.
