VISD Athletics Director to step down

Night at tten, leonard mcangus, visd athletic director since december of 2015, is retiring from that position effective june 30th.

Coach mcangus, the west football head coach the first six years of the program, told me friday night that after 37 years of coaching, he wants to spend more time with his wife and sons.

While mcangus has been ad, visd high schools have won district championships in volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, golf, and swimming and diving, and visd student-athletes have also qualified for state in cross country, track and field, wrestling, power lifting, and golf.

Our sean coffey asked coach mcangus about his greatest achievement as visd athletic director.

Probably the greatest accomplishment is getting to work with the kids that i've gotten to work with, and the people that i've gotten to work with.

It's just been tremendous people, and it's a great community.

It's just been a pleasure for me to have a chance to work with these people.
