After Mumbai man’s murder, wife on the run

MOHALI: Five days after the body of a Mumbai man aged about 35 was found in Lalru area of this district, his parents say his wife has a hand in the death.
On Thursday morning, the man was found dead under mysterious circumstance in a field of Toganpur village near Lalru. Injury marks found on his head and a brick recovered from the spot suggested that he had been stoned to death. Later, police also found out that he was Anil Krishan of Kandivali area in Mumbai.
Police found out during the preliminary investigation that there was also the mark of a sharp-edged weapon—a sword or a knife—on his head. The brick recovered from the spot has been sent for fingerprint analysis but the sharp-edged weapon is yet be traced. Cops say that the man was married for the past 10 years and his wife is from a village near Chandigarh.
She had moved back to Chandigarh a few months ago. The man followed her here last month, to take her home. He planned to take her to Mumbai on April 15 vut went missing on April 10. Later, his body was found in Lalru. Inspector Gurcharan Singh of the Lalru police station said: “The man’s wife is on the run and we have launched a hunt for her.”
She went missing the day her husband’s body was found in Lalru. She is not reachable on mobile phone since the incident. Besides, the man’s parents have alleged that she has a relationship outside marriage. They have got her booked under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Lalru police station. Police are hopeful of catching her soon.
