A civil engineer posing as an anaesthetist who harassed women he met on Tinder — a mobile app for dating — and blackmailed them, was caught by the Cyber Crime Police, Cyberabad. The accused Gollaladoddi Abdullah from Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, was arrested at his residence in Manikonda on Monday.
A victim complained to the police that Abdullah introduced himself as Dr. G Karthik Reddy, an anaesthetist working at a prominent hospital in the city. He forced her to send personal contacts and photos to his phone. Abdullah later sexually harassed her and extorted about ₹ 4 lakh from the victim.
Upon enquiry, the police found that he used to exchange messages with girls and married women through Tinder by posing as a doctor. He used to collect all their information, photos and videos through the app and saved them in his phone. Later, he allegedly blackmailed them. After arresting the accused, police produced him in a local court.
